Okay, here's my idea!
What if she puts up some flyers around town, pretending to be FROM Marvelous, and they are like
"HELP WANTED: Assistance in being a better pirate. Areas of improvement needed:
* Growing a luxuriant pirate beard
* Gruff nautical accent
* Directions to the ocean"
and stuff like that. And she could offer a cash reward and stuff in his name.

Hmm!! What does the transformation device transform you into? I need some good ammunition against one of her other targets. The pirate coat is kinda tempting too though, a shame it totally wouldn't fit her.
